Yay! Boo.

Good news: We just booked tickets to Kauai for Thanksgiving.

Bad news: I'm absolutely deathly terrified of flying with my son. I have a sneaking suspicion he's going to be 'that' kid.

You know, the one the other passengers are throwing bottles of Benedryl at while muttering under their breath at the audacity of those parents flying with such a child?

We have four months. Four months to condition a crazy kid into an airplane friendly kid. Is it possible? Am I dreaming? Are we crazy?

Don't answer that last one. I'm pretty sure that's a big 10-4.

just an fyi - if you've never given the kid benadryl, try it before the flight.

it makes my niece hyper. thankfully my sister knew it before the princess became that kid.

you'll have a wonderful trip - focus on the destination, not the mode of travel

Ahhhh, memories.... I've been THAT mom with THAT kid. It was a transatlantic flight when my oldest was 18 months old. I was flying alone with him back to the states to visit family. He screamed the entire way -- all seven hours. AND I still had to get on a little puddle-jumper after that.

Scared?

Unbeknownst to us, he had the beginnings of an ear infection. On the brighter side of things, we just traveled with both kids a few months ago, and the youngest was 18 months old. No problems at all, saving for a few whines about boredom.

Be assured, no matter what, you will survive it! Actually, I was surprised that first trip about how understanding people really were. If you're traveling with your husband, one of you will be able to walk the aisles with him and keep him entertained. Good luck!
